How long before the wedding should I buy my wedding dress?

In Denmark most brides buy their wedding dress 6-12 months before the wedding, because it has to be ordered from the factory. At Budget Dreams by Brudekjoleoutlet it is different: all the dresses hang in the shop in Hvidovre, and you take yours home the same day. If the tailor needs to alter it, we allow 2-3 weeks. I'm getting married in a few weeks, do you have a wedding dress I can take home the same day?

Yes, with us you take your wedding dress home the same day, and that is the whole point of an outlet. Over 1,000 dresses are ready in sizes 34-74, and the one you say yes to goes home with you. If you have less than three weeks until the wedding, mention it when you book your fitting. We will then set out dresses in your size in advance and work out with you what the tailor can manage. What is the delivery time if I buy a wedding dress from you?

At Budget Dreams by Brudekjoleoutlet there is no delivery time, because we don't order wedding dresses from the factory. All the dresses hang in the showroom and can be taken home the same day. In shops that order your size, it takes months, which is why everyone asks about delivery times. If you need the dress as soon as next month, write to us before you look elsewhere, via the contact page.

Do you have the wedding dresses in stock, or is everything ordered in?

All our wedding dresses are in stock. Over 1,000 dresses hang in our Danish shop in Hvidovre in sizes 34-74, and we don't order anything from a factory. What does 'off the rack' mean when buying a wedding dress, and do you have them?

Off the rack means the wedding dress hangs ready in the shop and is sold as it is, instead of being ordered in your size. Our whole shop is off the rack, which is why prices start at 1,000 DKK. Can I buy the exact wedding dress I tried on as a sample in the shop?

Yes, with us the sample dress and the dress for sale are the same. We only have one of each model, so the wedding dress you are wearing in front of the mirror is exactly the one you buy. If the dress shows signs of many fittings, we look at the price together. Come by the showroom and try the models you have seen on the website, and feel free to ask first via the contact page whether they are still there.

What does it mean that a wedding dress is an outlet dress?

An outlet dress is a new wedding dress that we have bought as a single piece, typically from a designer's stock or a discontinued collection. The quality is the same as in an ordinary bridal shop. What you save on is the waiting time and one link in the chain, which is why designer models can be up to 70% below the normal price. Come and feel the fabric yourself, and find the biggest savings in the sale.

Is each of your wedding dresses really one of a kind?

Yes, as a rule each wedding dress we have exists as a single piece. That is both the best and the hardest part of an outlet: you get a dress none of your guests have seen before, but once it is sold, it doesn't come back. So it rarely helps to sleep on it for three weeks if you are already sure. If you see a model on the website, ask via the contact page whether it is still in stock.

Can I change my mind if I bought my wedding dress in the shop?

No, if you buy your wedding dress in a physical shop, there is no statutory right of withdrawal, and that applies to all Danish shops, not just us. That is why you have the showroom to yourself when you try on, and we don't push. Ask what applies to your particular dress before you pay. Does the 14-day right of return also apply when I buy the wedding dress online?

Yes, if you buy your wedding dress in the webshop, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal, counted from the day the dress reaches you. The dress must be returned in the same condition you received it, so try it on over your own clothes and leave the tags on. Once the dress has been altered to your measurements, it cannot be sent back. Get the right size from the start with our size guide.

When do I pay for the wedding dress, when ordering or on collection?

With us you pay for the wedding dress when you take it home from the shop, because there is nothing to order and therefore no two payments to keep track of. If the tailor needs to alter the dress first, we agree on it at the same time, so you know the full amount before you say yes. Ask about payment when you book your fitting. Can I pay for my wedding dress in instalments?

We handle instalment payments for a wedding dress case by case, so ask us before you come in, and you will know what is possible for you. Because the dresses start at 1,000 DKK, many brides manage the amount without an arrangement. We are straightforward and don't add hidden fees to the price. How large a deposit do I pay when I order the wedding dress?

There is no deposit with us, because we don't order wedding dresses in. If you would like a dress put aside for a few days while you think, just ask us. We agree on that case by case, and we write down what we have agreed. If there is a model you would like us to hold, contact us via the contact page.

What do I do if I'm not happy with the wedding dress when I get it?

With us you get the wedding dress in your hands straight away, so you are never left with a surprise in a parcel. You see the dress in daylight, walk around in it and sit down in it before you pay. If there is anything you are unsure about, say so in the shop, because it is much easier to solve while the dress is still with us. Prepare with our questions and answers about fittings.

What happens if my wedding dress has a fault or damage?

If you discover a fault in a wedding dress you bought from us, contact us as soon as possible and send a photo. Under the Danish Sale of Goods Act you have a two-year right to complain about faults that were there from the start. If it is a tear from the party, our own tailor can often repair it. Bring the dress in and we will look at it together, but write to us first via the contact page.

When do you hold sales and sample sales on wedding dresses?

Our prices are outlet prices all year round, so you don't need to wait for the January sales. In addition, we hold sample sales where a selection of wedding dresses is heavily reduced for one day, and we have held eleven so far. When do new wedding dresses and collections arrive in the shop?

New wedding dresses arrive continuously, not just twice a year. Because we buy from designer stock and discontinued collections, new models appear on the rails almost every month, and they go on the website once they have been photographed. Are all the wedding dresses I see on the website also in the shop?

Yes, the website shows our own stock and not a factory catalogue. But because we have only one of each wedding dress, a model may be sold shortly after you have seen the picture. Send us the model number before you drive to Hvidovre, and we will check that the dress is still there. The easiest way is via the contact page.

Can you get in a wedding dress that you don't have in the shop?

No, we don't work with factory orders, so we cannot get a specific model in. On the other hand, you have over 1,000 wedding dresses to choose from, and there is almost always a model with the same cut, the same lace or the same back as the one you have seen. Can I buy the wedding dress directly online without going to the store?

Yes, you can buy the wedding dress on brudekjoleoutlet.dk and have it sent. We would still rather see you in the showroom first, because a wedding dress rarely fits the way you imagine, and the size label doesn't say much. Is it safe to buy wedding dress online?

It is safe to buy a wedding dress online from a Danish shop with an address, phone number and CVR number, where you have a 14-day right of withdrawal and can drop by if something is wrong. A foreign site with no return address is a completely different matter. We have a showroom in Hvidovre and a Danish CVR number, so come in and see the dresses if you want to feel completely safe. How do I know if a cheap wedding dress online is the real thing?

First check whether the shop has a Danish address, a CVR number and a phone number that gets answered, because that is the clearest sign of genuine goods. Photos borrowed straight from the designer's catalogue together with a price of a few hundred kroner almost always mean a copy sewn from the photo. The copy arrives with the wrong measurements and thin fabric, and you have no one to complain to. You can touch our dresses before you pay, including among the budget wedding dresses.

Is it a good idea to buy a second-hand wedding dress?

A second-hand wedding dress can be a good buy if you can try it on and it hasn't been altered to another body's measurements. That is often exactly the problem, because a dress taken in for one back can rarely be let out again. Is it common to have two wedding dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the party?

Yes, having two dresses has become common, usually a long one for the ceremony and something shorter for dancing. You don't have to buy two, though: many of our wedding dresses have a detachable overskirt or a train that can be bustled, so the same dress gives you two looks. Do you give a student discount on wedding dresses?

No, we don't have a special student discount, because the prices are set low from the start: wedding dresses from 1,000 DKK and designer models up to 70% off. If your budget is tight, tell us the amount when you come, and we will only bring out dresses you can afford. That way you avoid falling for one that is too expensive. Can I use a gift card or credit note on a wedding dress with you?

Yes, a gift card for the shop can be used on the wedding dress, on accessories or on the tailor's work. If you are unsure how long the gift card is valid, bring it along or send us the number, and we will check. A gift card is also a good answer when family ask what to give you. If there is money left on the card, it can be spent on veils and accessories.
